We were thrilled to host our Digital Arts For All (DAFA) programme over almost a whole week at Hwa Chong Institution. Four classes from Secondary 1 to 3 chose DAFA as part of their sabbatical. We were able to instill a stronger understanding of digital literacy to students through various iOS apps specially chosen by our trainers.
The students at HCI were also new to using Apple Pencils but were more than happy to try their hands at creating digital art for the first time; and many showed an artistic flair for drawing their favourite characters.
But the core of DAFA was for the students to truly comprehend the meaning of being safe, smart and kind online. Even those sure of their grasp of the various forms of media literacy were surprised by their results during the quiz.
“I hope the students can further educate their family members and friends about digital literacy,” commented Xue Min, one of the DAFA trainers.
